Affordable Meizu C9 to be officially introduced on December 5

Meizu is having a launch on December 5 in India and we expected to see flagship devices such as Meizu 16 and Meizu 16X. Surprisingly, the company listed a phone called Meizu C9 on its website, redirecting to Amazon India, where the device is listed as waiting to be launched tomorrow. The listing revealed the device from all sides, along with some key specs.

The Meizu C9 will have a 5.45” display with HD+ resolution and 18:9 ratio, meaning the Chinese maker is still not entering the notch territory. The top bezel has room for the proximity sensor, notification light, earpiece, and an 8 MP camera. There is one camera on the back with a 13 MP sensor, accompanied by a LED flash.

The phone is a decidedly entry-level affair with its colorful polycarbonate back, so it's no surprise it has just 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage with a microSD that will allow you to add additional 128 GB of files. It will come with Face Unlock and likely Android Oreo OS. The SIM slot will take two nano cards, with support for 4G LTE on both.

The event tomorrow will be streamed on YouTube and Facebook and begins at noon local time, so once it is over, we’ll let you know what Meizu India has pulled out of its sleeve.
